A range of CBD products will now be available at the Birmingham City’s football stadium, as the club signs a 12-month sponsorship deal with Green Monkey CBD. The company is most known for its carbonated CBD-infused drink.
The CBD industry has been merging with the sports industry through sponsorship deals with sportsmen and women for a while. However, this is the first time a football club has made the move to sign an agreement.
Big names in golf, rugby, and even the UFC have been upfront about their CBD use, claiming that it aids them in recovery. Saracens rugby players George Kruis and Dominic Day have even claimed that CBD “put our bodies back together”.
The first CBD products went on offer at Birmingham City’s stadium on Saturday, during their match against Stoke City. The most popular product is Green Monkey CBD’s 250ml drink, which is infused with 10mg of full-spectrum CBD.
Source: Green Monkey CBDDespite being a derivative of the Cannabis plant, CBD is legal within the UK. Products containing CBD must not exceed a THC content of 1mg, or it would be classed as a controlled substance.

It is estimated that 6 million people in the UK have tried a CBD product, and that number seems to be growing all the time. The club will also take part in a series of events to promote Green Monkey’s products to their fans.
Companies are currently unable to make any medical claims about the cannabinoid, as there has been a lack of comprehensive research around the subject. However, many people have reported benefits including improvements in Anxiety, Insomnia, Epilepsy, and Chronic Pain symptoms.
