Medterra Pain Relief CBD Cream: A Canex Review

16th December 2021

CBD has been taking the wellness world by storm for a long time now and we love when we get to review something other than oils. Medterra sent us some pain relief CBD cream to try.

It’s a topical cream that supports the skin as well as soothing achy muscles and joints. Complete with:

Arnica

It can be used topically for a wide range of conditions, including bruises, sprains, muscle aches, wound healing, joint pain, inflammation, and swelling.

Menthol

Menthol is a naturally occurring ingredient that is used in cosmetics and skincare products for its cooling properties and scent. It can also help relieve mild pain when used topically.

CBD

Topical CBD may help skin conditions, treat joint and muscle pains.

Here’s what they say about their brand…

‘We want you to see us as more than a logo and pretty, purple packaging. At Medterra we have dreams, passions, and ambitions just like you – ours just happen to include delivering quality CBD products at an affordable price.’

‘Medterra provides customers with true seed-to-sale purchases. Our industrial hemp is grown and extracted in accordance with the strict guidelines of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Each and every product that leaves the facility must be third-party tested to ensure consistency and quality.’

‘Although hemp cultivation, extraction, and manufacturing is relatively new to the US, our team of experts and partners have dedicated their lives to industrial farming methodologies, food-grade compound extraction, vegetable genetics, quality control, and more.’

‘Through industry efforts, we hope to remove the stigma associated with cannabis cultivation and educate the nation on the efficacy and sustainability of this miraculous, naturally occurring compound.’

I mostly spend my life hunched over my laptop with zero regard for my poor posture which of course has seen me suffer from neck and backaches. For an extra cooling effect, Medterra has added 4% more menthol, we found it to be strong in scent so avoid putting it near the face. The back of the neck and shoulders was absolutely fine and really refreshing.

The consistency was more like a thick gel than a cream but once it was rubbed in it settled into the skin really nicely without leaving the sticky residue we can sometimes expect from pain relief creams.

Muscle and joint creams are typically renowned for sticking on top of the skin and causing rashes or sore spots but the added Arnica and CBD in this one means it’s much less likely to have an adverse effect because of all their beneficial properties on the skin.

The cream itself is on the higher end of the price bracket at £31.99 for the 500mg strength and £49.99 for the 1000mg strength. It is free from plasticizers, artificial preservatives, and synthetics though, and was actually voted America’s #1 CBD cream winning the 2021 Product of the Year in CBD Personal Care.
